Advantages and Disadvantages of Graco Classic Wood Highchair HomeThis is a featured page

Chairs are not only useful as part of furniture but it can also be an excellent stuff for babies. That is why parents of all ages see to it that quality high chairs should be made available to their children.

The Graco Classic Wood Highchair has a warm wood and versatile design. It is one baby item you can use for years and even in generations. There are many reasons why a Graco Classic Wood Highchairis worth buying.

Wood styling, a removable plastic tray cover and its quality construction are the main features of this product. I love this product because of its cushioned, wipe clean seat pad, 3-point harness and a clear dishwasher-safe, pull-out tray insert that shows off and protects the wood finish. Further, as your baby grows, you can then take off the seat pad and change to a smaller snack tray. And so, it turns into a toddler chair. The older kids can also use it in reaching the dinner table or doing homework on the kitchen counter.

To stress, one thing that I really like in the Graco Classic Wood Highchair is its subtle design and high-quality construction. I also enjoy the chair's removable clear plastic tray cover that protects the wood without hiding it.

Listed below is a list of more advantages that Graco Classic Wood Highchair can offer:

* This is a very sturdy wooden high chair that is easy to assemble. The back is curved and it is a very attractive chair.

* The seat cushion is prettier to look at compared to the picture. The cushion ties snap on and just look like they are tied. I have not washed it yet but small spills wipe off easily. The harness can also be removed easily for washing also.

* The plastic cover tray is also nice and snaps on securely enough without being hard to remove. Even though it says safe for dishwasher, you can just wash by hand. It wipes down easily. If you want to use the tray without the plastic cover you may want to add a layer of clear coat.

There are also some disadvantages of this chair. These are the following:

* The crotch post does not allow for any adjustment to fit different-sized babies and the chair does not recline.

* Compared to highly rated plastic models (e.g. Fisher-Price Rainforest Highchair), it is also more expensive.

* Another shortcoming that I observed was the bar in the center between the child's legs. The design is wrong and it is not adjustable. It goes too far back in the seat. The screw covers need to be drilled and removed. I did not realize that it was also glued when I tried to pried it off. I had to use wood filler because it ended up peeling off a thin layer of wood and finish.

* At one point, the product description was confusing. It says that the chair can still be used for the toddler at a regular table when the snack tray is removed. But the chair's height is not adjustable. The toddler would have to do a lot of leaning so it cannot be used as a regular table. It can be used though for a counter or a breakfast bar.
